Matthew K. Frank, MS, CCC-SLP has over a decade of experience treating dysphonia (voice difficulty), dysarthria (neurological speech problems), and dysphagia (swallowing issues). He is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT®), a therapy typically used to improve the Parkinson’s disease voice. He has an ongoing interest in using education to refine his clinical skills for the benefit of his patients and has been fortunate to receive excellent training from some of the best medical institutions in the country, including here in Utah. He is the inventor of and primary researcher for Progressive Masked Voice Exercises (PMVE™), a trademark- and patent-pending treatment for dysphonia. Trainings for this therapy and other clinical resources can be found on his website www.voicetherapytools.com. Matthew has guided talented clinicians through the rigors of the Clinical Fellowship required by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). He has also supervised many outstanding graduate clinicians through externships in order to prepare them for effective clinical work. Based upon his experience mentoring others and his ongoing commitment to providing patients with dignity-focused care, he has written a book for clinicians entitled Pursuing Mastery: The New Medical Speech-Language Pathologist’s Handbook For Providing Values-Driven Care, Achieving Confidence In The Clinic, And Demonstrating Unquestionable Professional Worth.
