Rick received his Bachelor of Science in 1989 and Master of Science in 1990, both in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Christian University. He has worked primarily with the adult neurogenic population with a passion in dysphagia. Rick’s initial research projects started in 1994 and focused on dysphagia treatments, specifically using transcutaneous neuromuscular electrical stimulation. He is the Vice-President & Co-Founder of Ampcare, LLC, a start-up company founded in 2007. After receiving FDA clearance for Ampcare’s Effective Swallowing Protocol (ESP™) in 2013, they now provide certification training and offer products to SLPs to deliver the Effective Swallowing Protocol.
